The IRIS Network has issued a call for support for civil society organization projects – providers of social services in South-Eastern Europe, as part of the project “IRIS NETworking – Civil Society for the Protection of Beneficiaries in the Migration Management System”.
This small grant programme is open only for member organizations of the national IRIS networks from 5 countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia and Serbia, particularly non-government organizations showing initiative in introducing quality standards in their work, with an active approach to policy development and advocacy during project implementation.
The locations for project implementation are Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia and Serbia. The projects must be aimed at activities in the above countries.
The goal of this small grants programme is capacity development of non-government organizations for providing services and advocacy at the local and/or national level, and establishing community contacts with the aim of building a more flexible and inclusive society, aimed at positive changes in the community.
Activities eligible under this small grants programme:
- Development of new and quality improvement of existing services for migrants;
- Advocacy/development/improvement of strategic documents regarding migrants and their protection;
- Capacity raising for citizens for active participation in advocacy initiatives;
- Empirical research that will serve as the basis for advocacy initiatives;
- Advocacy campaigns, including raising awareness and promotion of adopted laws;
- Monitoring local/national laws and strategies, international commitments;
- Consultations between various stakeholders, workshops, seminars, conferences;
- Drafting recommendations for public policies and/or laws;
- Innovative approaches to the social integration of migrants, testing innovative approaches;
- Activities aimed at securing appropriate access for other vulnerable groups within the migrant population, non-government organizations/civil sector, etc.;
The deadline for applications is 17 May 2019.
