The European Investment Bank Institute is organizing a call for participation in the Social Innovation Tournament. The Tournament is being organized with the goal of financially supporting entrepreneurs across Europe endeavouring to achieve positive social change through the use of innovative technologies and approaches to doing business. The competition is being held in a different country every year. This year it will be held in Slovenia, in cooperation with the Faculty of Economy from Ljubljana.
The call involves competing in two categories: general and special. The general category encompasses projects aimed at general social issues, such as unemployment and marginalization, while the special category is reserved for a different field every year. This year, it is focused on projects from the field of healthcare, with particular emphasis on child obesity. Two prizes will be awarded in each category, amounting to 50 and 20 thousand euros.
Applications are to be submitted in English, at the latest by 15 March 2016, open for all interested parties both from EU member states, as well as accession countries.
