What is a social enterprise in Serbia and how does it arise, what fields does it operate in, how is it financed, what laws regulate its area of activity, where and how to gain basic knowledge of this sector, and what skills are required to start a business that has people at their core, not profit? These are just some of the questions answered by the guide “Social, Useful, Sustainable: How to Found a Social Enterprise in Serbia”, presented to the public on Friday, 7 October in the premises of UK Parobrod.
In addition to practical information on the current framework, legal forms, potential, main stakeholders, advantages, disadvantages and challenges, the guide also contains a number of “on the spot” reports, where social entrepreneurship is happening, since entrepreneur stories are the best preparation and inspiration for those wishing to try their hand in this field, as well as all those wishing to become engaged in order to improve the quality of life in their communities.
The guide “Social, Useful, Sustainable: How to Found a Social Enterprise in Serbia” is published by the European Movement in Serbia, one of the first organizations that recognized, nearly ten years ago, the significance and potential of social enterprises, in cooperation with the Heinrich Boell Foundation – Belgrade Office, with the support of EURICSE – Institute for the Study of Cooperatives and Social Enterprises.
The publication is available in print and electronic form.
