As part of the programme “Local Initiatives to Increase Social Inclusion and Reduce Poverty” coordinated by the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and cooperation, the project “Elderly in Remote Villages” is being implemented in the municipality of Babušnica.
The project is aimed at improving the process of social inclusion and poverty reduction in the municipality of Babušnica by providing the availability of community services, aiming to improve the quality of life of the elderly in remote mountain villages, prevent institutionalization and increase support for the natural family.
The project is implemented by the association of citizens “Lužničke rukotvorine – Ž.E.C.” in partnership with the Municipality of Babušnica. Project associates are: Social Work Centre, Healthcare Centre, Red Cross, Radio Babušnica, CA “Lužnica moja kuća”, CA “Zeleno carstvo” and the “Proksima” d.o.o. company. The project is valued at EUR 11,960 and the implementation of project activities began on 17 July 2015 and will last for the next year.
