Submissions for New Volume of Femikseta Closed

Published 30.05.2016.

femikseta_6The FEMIX programme for the affirmation of women’s creative work called on bands and female musicians from across Serbia to submit their new songs for the new edition of the compilation of domestic female authors’ music production Femikseta 6.0!

The sixth volume of Femikseta will be published in cooperation with Mikser Festival, with the support of the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

This year’s Mikser Festival is held under the slogan Sensitive Society, strongly coloured with issues of gender equality and women’s creative work, social equality, open dialogue, multiculturality and efficient conflict resolution.

After having Ognjenka Lakićević, Milica Mitić and Bojana Vunturišević in the role, this year’s selector of Femikseta will be Ida Prester! Ida will listen through the submitted songs during the upcoming period and produce a final selection of those that will appear on the compilation. Just as during previous years, Femisketa will be available in print and online editions, with the option of free listening and download.

FEMIX is a programme for the affirmation of women’s creative work initiated in 2010 by the “Organization for the Promotion of Activism”, active within the Independent Cultural Scene of Serbia, the Umbrella Organization of the Youth of Serbia and the Regional Network of Cultural Gender Practices. As the first initiative of its kind in the region, Femikseta was initiated in 2010 with the idea of providing a relevant overview of women’s musical creative work in Serbia, arising in the framework of independent and individual production.
