State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia Nenad Ivanišević attended the presentation of the “Step By Step” programme on 24 January. The programme is intended as support for social enterprises and civil society in Serbia, as part of the EU programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI).
Speaking at the event, Ivanišević praised Erste Bank for having initiated the above programme, and expressed hope that this bank’s initiative will be followed by other entities.
He assessed that the EaSI programme is a good opportunity for employment at the local level, noting that its Microfinance and Social Entrepreneurship component is particularly important for Serbia, aiming to increase the availability of microfinancing for vulnerable groups and micro-enterprises.
The State Secretary announced open calls to be issued this year as part of the EaSI programme, and invited all interested businesses to follow the calls and apply.
