The topics of the meeting held on 9 November between the Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlović and the Ambassador of Switzerland in Serbia Philippe Guex were the continued improvement of gender equality, social inclusion of the Roma community, as well as poverty reduction.
“All projects related to gender equality and social inclusion are being implemented in cooperation with the Government of Switzerland, and they are of great importance for the Serbian Government, as well as all citizens of our country. Serbia is the leading country in the region considering the results achieved in these fields, which was already acknowledged by the European Union, whose member we are aspiring to become” – said Mrs. Mihajlović.
The Ambassador Guex expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation so far, primarily through social inclusion and poverty reduction projects, saying that Switzerland would continue to support Serbia’s efforts in promoting gender equality.
“You have achieved great results, and I congratulate you on this. The New Swiss Strategy for Cooperation with Serbia is worth EUR 90 million, and special attention will be given to gender equality. Our goal is for gender equality to be incorporated into all three pillars of the Strategy – governance, economic development, and energy efficiency”, said Guex.
