The Catalogue of Assistive Technologies was presented during the “New Technologies in Education” conference, held in Belexpocentre in Belgrade from 9 until 11 February 2017. This Catalogue was created in order to introduce and make the field of assistive technology more familiar to parents, teachers, persons with disabilities, personal companions, pedagogical assistants, as well as everyone working with children and adults with disabilities. The Catalogue was created as collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the UNICEF Office in Serbia, the Group for Social Inclusion, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication, the Centre for Promotion of Science, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. The Catalogue was created under the Joint Programme for the inclusion of the Roma population and other vulnerable groups supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
The content of the Catalogue is informative and educational, and it includes the overview of resources and devices of assistive technology, their characteristics and purpose, and it was created according to the universal design in order to be easily accessible to everyone. Persons who use screen readers to read contents from the computer will in addition to the text have images, graphs and tables of the presented assistive technology available. The technologies are, in order to be easily accessible, sorted by their purpose and complexity.
