On July 26, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development in the Government of the Republic of Serbia Mladen Šarčević said that the results of our team at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Brazil serve as confirmation that we need to invest in education, because only that way we will ensure a safe path to success for future generations.
During his meeting with the President of the Society of Mathematicians Vojislav Andrić, Vice-President of the Mathematical Faculty Miljan Knežević, and President of the State Commission for Mathematical Societies of Serbia Bojan Bašić, Šarčević extended wishes for our representatives to win even more medals at future competitions.
The team of young mathematicians won four silver and two bronze medals and placed No. 18 in the competition of teams from 111 countries, according to a statement from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
