The Trag Foundation presented the VIRTUS Philanthropy Awards to companies, small and medium-sized enterprises and individuals who have most effectively and efficiently supported the non-profit civil society actions or organisations in 2016.
The Main Award for the contribution at the national level was given to Hemofarm. The Award for contribution to the local community in which the company operates was presented to the KPMG. Telekom Serbia received the award for a long-term partnership between the business and the non-profit sector. Yumis from Niš won the award for small and medium enterprises. The benefactor from Novi Pazar, Hido Muratović, won the award for Individual contribution to philanthropy. Winners of the special awards were Ljiljana Nedeljković, president and founder of Women Association “Cherry”, ERSTE Bank and Ringier Axel Springer Company.
The VIRTUS Award was established in 2007 as the first and the most important philanthropy award in Serbia. The objective of this award is to acknowledge and publicly recognise companies, enterprises, and individuals that provided strategic and long-term support to community development, thus setting the best example for others to follow. Through the VIRTUS Award, Trag Foundation promotes philanthropy in Serbia and encourages companies and individuals to get involved in programmes and initiatives supporting the greater good.
