The “Youth and the Economy – How to Develop a Successful Business” workshop was held as part of the campaign “Europe for You” at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. During the workshop, the participants were introduced to the Erasmus for young entrepreneurs programme, as well as other possibilities and ideas which should encourage them to develop their own business.
The Council for Youth Entrepreneurship of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the EU Info Centre organised an open doors day in order to encourage young people who are interested in starting their own business.
Jovana Stanojević from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia announced that the cross-border programme Erasmus for young entrepreneurs, whose implementation would start in 2018, would present an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to improve their skills by developing partnerships with companies from the EU.
She explained that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia received the approval for a project which would be implemented until 2020 with partners from Italy, Belgium, Poland, Spain, Ukraine, Finland, etc. With this project, young people will be able to go to these countries and learn about how to develop their own business directly from the host entrepreneurs, while the expenses will be covered by the European Commission.
According to her, until now, 1600 young people completed this educational programme, and the result is 3200 established or expanded enterprises.
