The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Ombudsman and the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities has implemented a two-day training on the accessibility of the environment for representatives of local self-government units.
The training was intended for representatives of local self-government units that applied and were shortlisted for the Award for Contributing to the Development of All Forms of Accessibility, presented by the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit, Ombudsman and Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities.
The training was implemented with the goal of improving the knowledge level of civil servants in the field of accessibility and an exchange of experiences on good practice examples and challenges faced regarding improvements to accessibility and the status of persons with disabilities. The training participants had the opportunity of visiting the “Iskra” Sports Centre in Kragujevac, awarded in 2017 for comprehensive action in developing accessibility and the social inclusion of persons with disabilities.
