The promotion of the project “U nevolji udruŽENE” (“Together When in Trouble”) was held on 1 September 2015 in Veliki Crljeni. The project presentation was attended by the head of United Nations for Development Irena Vojáčková–Sollorano, Her Excellency the Ambassador of Australia to Serbia Julia Feeney and Hisashi Yamasaki, an analyst for economic issues at the Embassy of Japan to Serbia.
During the presentation, Irena Vojáčková–Sollorano noted the importance of such projects wherein the United Nations are trying to train women to be able to provide themselves, as well as others, with help in crisis situations. In addition to this, the importance of cooperation with local organizations is, according to her, of crucial importance because it enables women from small communities to obtain timely and useful information.
Jelena Ružić, president of the Women’s Association of the Kolubarski District, presented information on the project they are implementing, and added that it is a great honour to receive a grant from institutions such as the UN and Government of Japan, and that they will try to implement the project in the best possible way, as well as to continue the work of the team of women to be trained for reacting in crisis situations after the implementation.
