For the twelfth year in a row Trag Foundation has presented VIRTUS awards for philanthropy to companies, small and medium-sized enterprises and individuals, with the aim of recognizing and publicly distinguishing companies and individual donors who strategically support community development thus presenting a good example to all. The awards were presented to the winners by Zoran Đorđević, Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Kyle Scott, US Ambassador to Serbia, Sem Fabrizi, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Frédéric Mondoloni, Ambassador of France to Serbia and Ruth Stewart, Australian Ambassador to Serbia.
The winner of the main prize for contributions at the national level is the company Banca Intesa a.d. Beograd. The award for contributions to the local community where the company operates was won by the company CRH Srbija d.o.o. Popovac, while the award for the long-term partnership of the business and non-profit sector was won by the company Philip Morris Operations a.d. Niš. The company Bosis d.o.o. from Valjevo won the award in the category for small and medium-sized enterprises, while the award for individual contributions to philanthropy was won by Milomir Glavčić, a pensioner from Canada helping people in Serbia through donations for more than seven years. The winners of the special prizes are Filip Filipović for helping the population of rural areas, Mario Milaković from Belgrade for intergenerational connections, Ljubinka Vivčar from Belgrade to contributions to foundations, while the young philanthropist award was won by Stefan Nikolić from Vršac.
The VIRTUS award for 2018 is being implemented with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Union and the Balkans Fund for Democracy.
