The first three places in the finals of the “Open Data in Teaching” competition for secondary schools in Serbia, held on 23 May at the Science-Technology Park Belgrade, were won by the teams “Tesla Girls” from the “Nikola Tesla” School Centre in Vršac, “GimPi2” from the Pirot Gymnasium and “Aurora” from the Economic-Commerce School in Kraljevo.
They took part in a competition aimed at providing support to computer science and other subject teachers to present open data to their students, along with ways they can be used to motivate young people towards a career in information technology. More than 180 secondary school teachers took part in the “Open Data in Teaching” project, with 80 student teams, while the ten best teams presented their work in the competition finals.
The Project “Open Data – Open Opportunities” in the Republic of Serbia is being implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Office for Information Technology and e-Government.
