The winners of the SEED self-employment grants were presented in Sombor and Vladičin Han, signing grant contracts with NSHC. These are the most successful attendants of the SEED trainings in the field of organic food production, tourism and social entrepreneurship held in Apatin, Kula, Surdulica and Vladičin Han. They gained support for starting and developing their own business, consisting of grants in equipment and materials, in accordance with approved business plans. The value of the assistance awarded is up to 180,000 dinars per grant. This will provide support for entrepreneurs working in the production of honey, vegetables, shiitake mushrooms, ethno tourism and the provision of assistance in the home for elderly persons, etc.
The grants were distributed as part of the SEED programme by the Austrian organization Volkshilfe Solidarität. The partner organization in Serbia is the Novi Sad Humanitarian Centre, while professional support to programme implementation is provided by the consulting company “Tara International Consulting”. The programme is financed by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) using Austrian Development Cooperation funds.
