The publication “Use of Time in the Republic of Serbia in 2010 and 2015” was produced based on data obtained from two surveys on the use of time, implemented by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia within the territory of the Republic of Serbia.
The population of Serbia aged 15 and above on average spend nearly seven hours in some form of work (nearly three of those hours in paid work and three and a half hours in unpaid work), somewhat under half an hour studying, and most of the day in personal needs (10 and a half hours), while the remaining time can be called free time, where we spend six and a half hours.
The survey, unfortunately, confirmed the stereotypes for this area. Regardless of whether they are employed or not, women work twice as much in the home, and spend half as much time in paid work than men. Women, on the average, work a total of incomplete seven hours, while men nearly six hours, with the women spending more than two thirds of the time in unpaid work, while men do the same in paid work.
