The first of a series of workshops for the preparation of the Manual for the Application of the Rulebook on more detailed criteria enabling an employee, child, student or third party in an educational institution to detect different forms of discrimination was held under the “Support to the Implementation of the Regulation in the Field of Anti-discrimination in Education” project implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development in partnership with UNICEF and the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality.
Rulebook on more detailed criteria enabling an employee, child, student or third party in an educational institution to detect different forms of discrimination has been adopted in February 2016 (the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, No 22/16). The Manual should expand the application of the Rulebook by including other stakeholders from the local community, not only from schools but also from units for protection from violence in schools. Three Manuals for Recognising and Responding to Discrimination in Education – for teachers, parents, and students – will be developed in the coming period, after the Manual for the Application of the Rulebook has been adopted.
A set of training courses for the application of measures prescribed by this document will be organised for teachers, education inspectors, advisors, school principals and the school management.
