belgrade_ignite - logoIt is our great pleasure to invite you to a new Belgrade Ignite on Social Inclusion to be held on 29 October at 7 PM at the Belgrade Impact Hub, organized by the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit and the CA “Serbia in Motion”.

Ten presenters will present their struggles and successes with social inclusion: we will talk about empowering kids from marginalized groups through music; the success of daring young people deciding to build their careers in entrepreneurial waters; the daily struggle of HIV/AIDS patients; the challenges for Roma building their home independently; active aging and lifelong learning, support to refugees and migrants, the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and LGBT persons in Serbia.

Join us at the event to be held on Thursday, 29 October 2015, at 7 PM, at the Impact Hub (Makedonska 21).

The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the “Serbia in Motion” association, has already organized Belgrade Ignite meetings three times. All of the events were dedicated to social inclusion, and the numerous guests could learn more about success stories in the field of caring for the elderly, single parenthood, social entrepreneurship, social inclusion after curing addiction, inclusion of youth with behavioural issues, children of the street, asylum seekers and convicts, inclusive education, the life of persons with disabilities and children with development disabilities, activism, solidarity, combating human trafficking, etc.

Visit our YouTube channel and watch the video recordings of the presentations from previous Ignite events dedicated to social inclusion.

Ignite represents a part of a global movement of holding quick and brief presentations aimed at inspiring the audience and presenting new ideas in an informal environment – café or club. The first Ignite meeting was held in Seattle (USA) in 2006, and has since become an international phenomenon in a very short period. Today, this dynamic method of presenting ideas is practiced in over 100 cities worldwide – the rules are the same everywhere: anyone may apply as an Ignite participant; presentations last for 5 minutes; each presentation consists of 20 PowerPoint slides; the slides switch automatically every 15 seconds; the presenter has no control over the switching of the slides.

The first Ignite event in Belgrade was organized in October 2009. “Serbia in Motion” has been regularly organizing this event since then, aiming to set young people in motion in improving their public performance, presentation and achieving their ideas.
