Published 07.12.2018.

Dobitnici i dobitnice Nacionalne nagrade za volontiranje 2018.The Forum for Corporate Responsibility and Smart Kolektiv awarded National Awards for Volunteering on 5 December, at an event organized to celebrate the International Day of Volunteering.

The national award for volunteering is presented with the aim of recognizing and promoting organizations, individuals and companies dedicating time and skills to improving local communities and the lives of other people.

The main prize in the category of organizations was awarded to the association “Prevodilačko srce”, gathering around 500 translators that do translations of medical documentation for treatments abroad, in a completely voluntary manner. The Primary and Secondary Education School “Milan Petrović” from Novi Sad was awarded for the project of introducing a volunteering club that engages motivated individuals from the local community to help the beneficiaries of this institution.

The award for corporate volunteering was received this year by the company L’Oreal Adria-Balkan for the activity held at the inclusive meeting point “Mesto susreta” in Zemun Polje, where 116 volunteers took part, donating more than 800 working hours.

The award for the volunteer of the year was given to Irena Pavlović, the founder of the “Run art” community for working with women from the Safe House for victims of domestic violence. Irena organized a group of women from the Safe House and together with them and their children ran the 5 km Pleasure Race at the Belgrade Marathon. In addition to this, Irena is implementing a programme of synchronous running with blind and vision impaired persons, thus providing them support for better social integration.

A special award for contributions to the local community was given to Srećko Zdravković for starting the initiative “Mladi u centru” that contributed to Bor once again having a youth culture centre after three decades.

Two panel discussions were also held after the award ceremony: about local initiatives for improving the status of young Roma and about corporate volunteering as an accelerator for empowering local communities.
