Okrugli sto "Upis u školu u svetlu inkluzivnog obrazovanja"The roundtable with the subject “School Enrolment in Light of Inclusive Education” was held on Monday, 25 May 2015, at the Park hotel in Belgrade.

The measures of enrolment policy increasing availability of education for all children and their application in preschool institutions, primary and secondary schools, were discussed from the perspective of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of RS, UNICEF, educational advisors, IE Support Network, ISCs, employees of educational institutions, representatives of civil society organizations and parents.

Discussions at the meeting involved the degree to which legal regulations provide for the inclusion of all children in education: why early inclusion in education is key to development and whether there is any justification for delaying school enrolment; what are parents facing when they want to enrol their child in a preschool institution and school, whether there are omissions and how to overcome them; what is the procedure for secondary school enrolment of children from sensitive groups and to whom does affirmative action apply; good practice in securing the transition of children from vulnerable groups through all levels of pre-university education; what impacts the decision on the choice of type of education and what is the role of personal assistants for children.

The meeting was organized as part of the project “Improvement of Education in Serbia through the Development of the Network of Support to Inclusive Education”, implemented by the Network of Support to Inclusive Education and partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of RS and UNICEF, with the financial support of SDC.
