The “Let’s Motivate our Children to be Active“ Project Accepted by all Schools

Pokrenimo našu decuOn 30 November, the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Mladen Šarčević stated that the “Let’s Motivate our Children to be Active” programme was launched in order to ensure that children spent all their free time during school hours being active.

At the press conference organised on the occasion of the presentation of international awards received by Aqua Viva – brand of the “Knjaz Miloš” company – for the “Let’s Motivate our Children to be Active” programme Šarčević stated that the Programme was being implemented in all primary schools in Serbia.

He indicated that the “Let’s Motivate our Children to be Active” programme was being implemented by the line ministry in partnership with Aqua Viva and the Serbian Association of Physical Education Teachers, and added that the mentioned programme envisaged introduction of a daily physical activity into all primary schools in Serbia.

The Minister highlighted that the Programme won two prestigious awards at the Global Bottled Water Industry Congress in Barcelona.

In addition to winning the award for the best socially responsible project, the “Let’s Motivate our Children to be Active” programme won the special, gold award as the winner in all competition categories, Šarčević pointed out.

He reminded that the Programme, which was initiated on 21 February 2017, was being implemented in all 1,206 primary schools in Serbia, for students from the first until the fourth grade.

The exercises used in the “Let’s Motivate our Children to be Active” programme were created by the Serbian Association of Physical Education Teachers, said the Minister and added that those exercises which were tailor-made for children were designed to be done inside the classroom before class or during the break.
