The European Commission adopted the European Union Rural Development Programme in Serbia (IPARD) to be used by the European Union to support rural development in Serbia during the next six years.
Through IPARD, Serbian farmers will have access to 175 million EUR, primarily as grants for cofinancing investments, with public contribution of a maximum of 70% of eligible costs. The main goals of the Programme are the improvement of food safety in Serbia and the development of the competitiveness of agricultural production and processing, as well as harmonization with European Union standards in these areas.
The first calls for project proposals to be financed by IPARD will be issued once the phase of harmonization with the European system of management and control in agriculture is completed.
