The Automobile and Motorcycle Association of Serbia (AMSS) Centre for Motor Vehicles (CMV) located at Zrenjaninski put 114b, officially opened the first AMSS CMV CENTER FOR THE EVALUATION OF DRIVING ABILITIES, the only one in the Balkans, it is intended for all drivers, and it will be particularly useful to drivers with disabilities.
Until now, the adaptation of vehicles for drivers with disabilities has been exclusively the product of ingenuity of the mechanics and drivers themselves, and the installation did not meet the technical standards. “AMSS and its sector CMV (Centre for Motor Vehicles) combined their resources and knowledge and opened this centre as a novelty, a contribution to society and traffic safety” – AMSS president Mirko Butulija said at the opening.
In the future, because of special driving simulators even the most vulnerable groups, such as persons with disabilities, will be able to test the physical, psychomotor skills and driving capabilities, as well as learn how to properly customise their vehicle and learn which special commands they need in their vehicle according to the type of their disability.
