On December 17, 2015, the Republic Institute for Social Protection organized the international conference called “Assessment of values and effects of the deinstitutionalization of the social protection system in the Republic of Serbia”. The Conference represented the last event for the “Social Protection Assessment for Values and Effectiveness – SAVE” project focused on the understanding of the deinstitutionalization process of the social protection system in Serbia.
The “Social Protection Assessment for Values and Effectiveness – SAVE” project is the first project in Serbia, within the PROGRESS Programme, that dealt with the costs of effectiveness and efficiency of the part of the social protection system. The Republic Institute for Social Protection was in charge of the project’s activities, and in cooperation with the European Institute for Social Welfare Policy and Research from Austria, it continues to provide recommendations for further improvement of the deinstitutionalization process in Serbia.
The Conference presented experiences and good practices of the Republic of Serbia, as well as the knowledge and experience from the European Union about the process of deinstitutionalization. Apart from the representatives of the Republic Institute for Social Protection, the Conference speakers were representatives from the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, European Institute for Social Welfare Policy and Research from Austria and social protection and healthcare service providers from public and civil sectors.
