The survey conducted by the Office of the Commissioner for Protection of Equality has shown that more than 20% of the representatives of the government in Serbia are not aware that the law bans all forms of discrimination, while many tolerate this kind of behaviour. The results of the survey were presented in January 2014.
The survey covered 1,352 representatives of institutions from the Government of Serbia, Vojvodina Assembly, local courts and prosecutors’ offices and its final objective is to identify measures to be taken so that the public services would work in the best interest of citizens and towards achieving zero tolerance to discrimination.
The results of the survey show that discrimination is lower in Belgrade and Vojvodina than in the rest of Serbia.
