The EU Info Centre in Belgrade is starting a Media Club that should contribute to better information on the European Union and the European integration of Serbia, it was said at the presentation of the project on 26 February. The club should enable the exchange of opinions and information between journalists and people knowledgeable regarding European integration, with the specific means of the exchange remaining to be developed. The plan includes providing citizens, through cooperation with media, better quality content on the EU that would further illuminate various issues, with an emphasis on reporting on personal experiences and the benefits of integration.
According to data presented at the event, 58% of the citizens emphasized combatting corruption as an important reform measure, with 41% opting for healthcare reforms. Likewise, most citizens (38%), responding to the question which EU policies would they like to know more about, said it was youth policies, while 39% noted the most interesting media content on the EU to be experiences of ordinary citizens in the process of EU accession.
The EU Info Centre is also preparing a redesign of their website, intended to be more informative and interactive, as well as weekly radio news that should begin broadcasting on regional and local radio stations as of next week. The website will also contain the blog of the head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, and books in electronic format will also be available.
