On 11 June 2014, the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy held a closing conference of the twinning project “Preparation of Serbian Labour Market Institutions for European Employment Strategy”.
The Programme that the EU donated EUR 2 million into and that lasted 26 months aimed at improvement of the employment policy in the Republic of Serbia.
More than 60 experts from the EU countries share their knowledge and best practices with the colleagues from Serbia. The project strengthened the capacities of the labour market institutions in the context of the Programme of Employment and Social Policy Reforms that the Republic of Serbia and the European Commission are working on.
Since new job creation is one of the main objectives of the EU 2020, and investments into human resources of key importance, the EU invested EUR 148 million from IPA funds into development of human resources in Serbia.
