European PROGRESS published the Call for submitting project proposals inside the scope of the “Support to Local Gender Equality Mechanisms” programme.

The objective of this Call is to assist local Gender Equality Mechanisms (GEMs) in affirming, reaffirming and to assert their roles further within the respective local governments and local communities, through preparation and execution of relevant gender equality related activities.

The Call will include support for projects in the following areas of gender equality:

1. Improvement of the position of women in specific areas, as defined in respective Municipal Local Action Plans for gender equality (LAP) such as education, agriculture, sport, the participation of women in decision-making processes, economic empowerment of women, etc.

2. Implementation of activities from Local Action Plans for gender equality pertained to further institutional strengthening and capacity development of GEMs.

3. Promotion of the European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life.

4. The introduction of Gender Responsive Budgeting.

This Call is for established and functioning GEMs from the 34 municipalities which are participating in the European PROGRES programme.

Deadline for the proposals application is Monday, October 10, 2016.
