The explanatory screening for Chapter 19 referring to social policy and employment was held in Belgrade 10 – 12 February 2014. The main themes of the negotiating Chapter 19 are protection at work, judiciary, social dialogue, employment policy, social inclusion, social protection, European Social Fund, persons with disabilities and equal opportunities.

The second day of explanatory screening saw the meeting with the representatives of the DG Employment, Social Issues and Inclusion where the strategic challenges in the area of employment and social policy for the Republic of Serbia were analysed.

These themes were presented in the introductory part of the strategic document of the Government of the Republic of Serbia – Programme of Reforms in the Area of Employment and Social Policy that Serbia is to adopt by end 2014.

The Serbian Government established an intersectoral group for development of the reforms programmes of employment and social policies chaired by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy.
