The project “Our Children” is being implemented within the wider programme “Local Initiatives to Increase Social Inclusion and Reduce Poverty” coordinated by the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

Project activities were planned in accordance with the Second National Report on Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction in the Republic of Serbia for 2011-2014, aiming to achieve the following priorities:

Preschool education:

• Providing conditions for unfettered inclusion of the maximum number of children in preschool education,
• Support to the implementation of the programme for early child development,
• Support to institutions in monitoring and adapting preschool services to the needs of children, etc.

Primary education:

• Support to activities and projects to improve the status of children from rural areas in accordance with the plan for the optimization of the school network and connection with rural development plans,
• Financing individual support plans and providing material funds for children from vulnerable groups to secure their social inclusion and participation in educational activities,
• Support to projects supporting increased inclusion of Roma children in education, as well as children with development and other disabilities,
• Promoting the programme of support for learning and education with providing pedagogic assistants for children with learning disabilities,
• Support to children aiming to prevent early dropout, etc.

Secondary education:

• Support to institutions in monitoring and adapting services to the needs of students,
• Providing support for the development of integrated services and programmes to improve the educational process,
• Providing support measures for students from poor families and vulnerable groups,
• Support to projects supporting increased inclusion of Roma children in education, as well as children with development and other disabilities ,
• Support to children aiming to prevent early dropout, etc.

The project “Our Children” is implemented by the Centre for Working with Children, Youth and Family “Vrdničak”, in partnership with the Municipality of Irig.
