On December 15, 2015, the European Commission adopted the Interreg–IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Hungary-Serbia 2014-2020.
The objective of this Programme is to give support to cross-border cooperation projects which will strengthen the economic cooperation in border areas through the sustainable use of natural and cultural resources. The Programme is focused on the promotion of cross-border management of water, and systems for risk prevention, reduction of bottlenecks in cross-border traffic, encouragement of cooperation in tourism and cultural heritage and the development of competitiveness of MSP through innovations.
The Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA II) has approved €65,12 million for this Programme. The total value of the Programme, including domestic co-financing, is €76,62 million.
