The role of local governments and the impact of EU accession process on Serbian local governments and the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM), as the national association of local authorities, comprised the main topic of the 40^thGeneral Assembly of the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, under the title Impact of the EU Accession Process on Serbian Local Governments.

The participants of the General Assembly were discussing the future steps that local self-governments need to undertake in order to prepare for, equally participate in and advocate their interests in a timely manner in the process of Serbia’s accession to the EU.
