The 2013 unemployment rate of persons aged 20-64 who are not citizens of EU but live in it was two times higher than that of the EU citizens. However, the share of persons unemployed for a year or longer is almost the same among the persons who are EU citizens (49,4%) and those who are not (48,6%). The European statistics showed that the workers who are not the citizens of EU are more often engaged on temporary contracts and less-than-full time work. The differences in employment exist also between the citizens of EU who are or are not nationals of one of the EU countries.
The highest differences in employment rates of migrants and nationals of one of the EU Member States are recorded in Sweden, Belgium, Holland, France, Finland and Germany.
