The student company “Plantagenet” from the “Sveti Ahilije” secondary school in Arilje won first place in the National Competition for the Best Student Companies held in Belgrade on 16 and 17 May. The company is producing ecological sets for plant growing in the home, and will represent Serbia at the European student company competition in Switzerland in July, among secondary school students from 35 countries.
The twenty best secondary school teams from across Serbia presented their companies’ products and services as part of the sales fair at the Delta City shopping mall, while on Tuesday they presented their business plans to the jury at the Deputy’s Club. The students “employed” in these companies acquire knowledge on the market economy and entrepreneurship throughout the school year through the “Youth Achievements” programmes, running their company from its foundation, to the drafting of company reports and the closing of the company. The Student Company programme is part of the “Year of Entrepreneurship 2016” project of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, implemented by the Ministry of Economy.
The competition was implemented by the Youth Achievements in Serbia organization with the financial assistance of the Ministry of Economy, Societe General Bank, the TeleGroup and Buck companies, the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit, the Delta City shopping mall and the German organization for international cooperation.
