The Minister without portfolio in the Serbian Government responsible for European Integration Jadranka Joksimović stated in Luxembourg on 20 June that the opening of new chapters in the EU accession negotiations sent another message that the gates of the Union are open for Serbia.
Minister Joksimović, who led the Serbian delegation at the sixth EU-Serbia Intergovernmental Conference, said that Serbia opened two more negotiation chapters in Luxembourg, namely Chapter 29 on the customs union, and Chapter 7 on intellectual property.
She stressed that the negotiations in the newly opened Chapter 7, which addressed intellectual property rights, were of relevance to the interests of the people engaged in innovations and arts who supported the Serbian economy in an innovative way. Ms Joksimović said that Chapter 29 on the customs union would also bring benefits to every citizen and company and that everyone in the business sector and the society would enjoy the benefits of that union.
