In the context of “Europe 2020”, the European Union presented a Social Business Initiative – action plan for strengthening the framework for social enterpreneurship. More than 2000 social enterpreneurs and advocates for social enterpreneurship gathered in Strasbourg in mid-January 2014 to define the future priorities in this area.

The opinion that social businesses must play a stronger role in the future of Europe was confirmed and new ideas and activities identified highlighting their potential for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.
