The winter edition of the quarterly review in the field of employment and social policy shows improvements in the European Union labour market. The employment rate continues to rise in the European Union among all age groups, especially among workers between 55 and 59 years of age.
In the third quarter of 2015, the employment rate in the whole European Union has reached a level where it had been before the crisis; however the progress has been unevenly distributed among the Member States. In addition, the unemployment rate continues to fall, and the number of the long-term unemployed has decreased slightly.
