The innovative project of higher education internships “Practical Academy”, implemented last year by the Association Kamenica with the support of the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of the Government of RS and in partnership with 5 faculties of the University of Niš, was recognized and supported by the City of Niš and the Office for Local Economic Development and Projects.
Unlike the previous project that successfully implemented internships in businesses of underdeveloped municipalities around Niš, the project continuation titled “Practical Academy – Niš” focuses on the Niš economy. The project is being implemented by the Association Kamenica in partnership with the Faculty of Occupational Protection and Centre for Career Development of Students and Scientists at the University of Niš.
The Mayor of Niš Darko Bulatović presented the agreement on cooperation to the project implementers during a ceremony held at the City Assembly on 6 December, attended, in addition to representatives of the Office for Local Economic Development and Projects, city councillors and the economic council, by the Dean of the Faculty of Occupational Protection Prof. dr Momir Praščević, and Prof. dr Sveta Cvetanović.
Practical Academy is fondly remembered by students, as witnessed by the fact that the project planned for the participation of 30 students, whereas 58 have already applied. The Kamenica Association will, in agreement with its partners, attempt to provide internships for all interested students.
