Three entrepreneurial projects by students from state and private universities in Serbia were awarded at the largest European competition for social entrepreneurship for students, titled “Social Impact Award”, held for the first time this year in our country as well. The prizes for the best projects – EUR 3,000 of initial capital each for implementing the projects, travel to two international conferences and mentoring support by experts – were won by the teams “Youth for the Elderly” from Pirot, “Eco Crate” from Novi Sad and “School Companion” from Belgrade.
“We are very satisfied with the interest in the Prize, as well as the activities we have jointly implemented as part of the educational segment of the programme. We held 33 workshops in Niš, Novi Sad and Belgrade, attended by over 400 students, and the result of this work in the final phase were ten extraordinary projects”, said Miloš Paunović, representative of the Razlivalište association, the organizers of the competition.
“We are proud that Serbia has also joined the countries promoting social responsibility and entrepreneurship among students through the Social Impact Award. We saw that students in Serbia have excellent ideas and we are happy to be following the implementation of the three best projects”, said Jovana Trifunović, representative of the ERSTE Foundation providing support to the Social Impact Award throughout the region.
The winners of the competition were decided by a jury comprised of Aleksandra Kecojević (Divac Foundation), Neven Marinović (Smart kolektiv), Nenad Moslavac (Impact Hub Belgrade), Dragana Zmijanac (SEEICT), Sonja Dakić (Daj Daj nappies), Milana Milošev (Coca Cola HBC Serbia), Svetlana Jovanović (assistant at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences), as well as the Business Team of the Erste Bank.
The organizer of the competition is the Razlivalište association, supported by Impact HUB Belgrade, as well as the companies Coca-Cola Hellenic Serbia and Erste Bank, while ERSTE Foundation is a multiannual regional partner to the project.
