On 1 April 2014, the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy of the Republic of Serbia, published a public call for associations and other civil society organisations (CSOs) to select candidates for the representatives of the Republic of Serbia in the Joint Consultative Committee (EU-Serbia Civil Society Joint Consultative Committee JCC). JCC is a body which consists of representatives of the European Economic and Social Committee and representatives of the social partners and civil society in Serbia.
For the first time, this public call allows civil society organisations to directly and publicly nominate and vote for their representatives who will represent the interests of the civil society of Serbia in the JCC in the areas of the rule of law, protection of environment, farming and rural development and socio-economic development. The deadline for the submission of proposals of candidates expired on 15 April 2014. Selection of the proposed candidates is underway.
