In the process of economic and fiscal monitoring, the EU Member States are creating documents that ensure the multilateral monitoring and coordination of economic policies in the European Union (EU). In order to prepare for this process, during the pre-accession period, the Republic of Serbia, as a candidate country for EU membership, is preparing a document called the Economic Reform Programme (ERP). The Republic of Serbia already possesses the experience in the development of this strategic document, and currently in progress is the third cycle of the ERP development for the 2017–2019 period.
In order to ensure the widest possible consensus in the selection of priority reform measures, ERP coordinators from line ministries conducted intensive interdepartmental consultations, as well as consultations with the European Commission and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The result of these consultations was the preparation of the Preliminary List of the Priority Structural Reforms for the ERP 2017-2019.
For the purpose of this public debate, the Preliminary List of the Priority Structural Reforms which includes 15 structural reforms will be available for the general public from October 18, until November 1, 2016. The ERP 2017-2019 document will be made public before it has been officially adopted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, after which it will be submitted to the European Commission at the end of January 2017.
All comments and suggestions regarding the Preliminary List of the Priority Structural Reforms should be sent to the following email address: sanja.mesanovic@mfin.gov.rs until November 1, 2016.
ERP 2016-2018 and all accompanying documents can be found on www.mfin.gov.rs.
