The Innovation Fund has awarded EUR 3 million for the implementation of 22 innovative projects by small and medium-sized enterprises. The funds were allocated within the budget of the Republic of Serbia, from the section of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, through the Project for the Improvement of Competitiveness and Employment based on a loan agreement with the World Bank.
As part of the Early Development Programme, intended for enterprises in the introductory phase of development, grants were approved for 13 innovative projects. Individually, within this programme, enterprises have received up to EUR 80,000 in grants, with a total of 143 applications submitted. Within the Innovation Co-Financing Programme, intended for enterprises that require significant funds for the commercialization of research and development, funds were approved to the amount of EUR 2 million for 9 projects. Individually, within this programme, enterprises have received up to EUR 300,000 in grants, with a total of 75 applications submitted. Innovative projects that were approved funding come from various branches of the industry, mainly from the field of information-communication technology, followed by the field of medical and therapeutic devices, energy and energy efficiency. The majority of supported enterprises operate in Belgrade, followed by Novi Sad and Niš.
Money for the Early Development Programme was received by Food group MSP, Clever, Box system, Svezdrava rešenja, Innsono, PWNRS, UrbiGo, Heartpal Tech, Prikk Data from Novi Sad, Pulcap, Kov Technology from Belgrade, Glass Slipper. Under the Innovation Co-Financing Programme funds were received by Alfa Klima from Knjaževac, Composite Technology Team, NeoMedica from Niš, MTT AERO C&RT, Photon Optronics, Coing, Biounik, Panonit from Novi Sad.
The Innovation Fund aims to strengthen ties between the research community and innovative enterprises, and in this sense it has initiated a Programme for the Cooperation of Science and the Economy, and innovation vouchers to stimulate them to create innovative products with market applications through joint development projects.
