In the Gala Hall of the City Assembly of Belgrade, the fourth “Rainbow”, prize awarded every year regarding May 17 – the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO), was awarded for contribution to the fight against homophobia and transphobia and protection and advancement of human rights of LBGT persons in Serbia in the previous year.
The winner of this year’s “Rainbow” Award is Aleksandar Stojmenović, the liason officer to the LGBT community of the Ministry of Interior (MUP) of Serbia. In their explanation, the jury, deciding on the award, emphasized his work in the cases of violence and discrimination against LGBT persons and good cooperation with LGBT organizations and community related to this and other affairs of importance.
The winner of the award “Rainbow” to date are the Minister without portfolio Jadranka Joksimović, the Head of Negotiating Team for Accession of the Republic of Serbia to the EU Tanja Miščević as well as the Department for Work with Community of the Ministry of Interior (MUP) of Serbia.
