Considering the fact that they earn 19.3% less than men, employed women in Spain will work for free as of 21 October, until the end of the year. Regarding the pay gap between women and men, women in Serbia will start working for free on 23 November, as stated in the report by the London Expert Market. The lowest pay gap between women and men in Europe is in Slovenia, and the highest is in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Considering the average earnings of women as a percentage of men’s earnings, Expert Market calculated when women across Europe start to work practically for free.
The lowest pay gap between women and men among the 40 European countries is in Slovenia, while Serbia is in 10th place with a difference between a “male” and “female” salary of 11%.
The lowest spot is held by Bosnia and Herzegovina, where men have 46% higher salaries than women, meaning that women have been working “for free” in that country since 15 July.
On average, women in Europe earn 17% less than men, meaning that European women work for free from 31 October to the end of the year.
