The Serbian Government adopted the Decision on Financing Associations allowing for transparency of budget funds distribution and control of their spending. At the same time, the criteria for selection of programmes to be funded have been improved. In addition to the legal obligation to publish, minimum once a year, the report on their operation and the funding sources, the associations will submit quarterly progress reports and the final reports.

The Office for Cooperation with the Civil Society of the Government of Serbia has started drafting an Annual Summary Report on the budget funds expended by the associations and civil society organizations.

The aim of publication of information about the budget funding of associations and civil society organizations is stimulating a more transparent planning and allocation of budget funds as well as monitoring of project implementation.
